New Zealand Tour of 2008 - June 10, 2008

New Zealand Tour of 2008
The people of New Zealand love Country Music

What an honor it was to be invited back to the beautiful country of New Zealand for another three week tour with New Zealand’s own top female country artist ; Mrs. Joy Adams .
A little something about Joy . She has to be the hardest working indie artist I have ever had the pleasure of working with anywhere in the world. This young lady does it all . Organizing the gigs , advertisements at all of the events as well as all of the driving during the tour to and from all of the different venues all over the country . She makes sure that all of her guest are treated with the utmost respect during the entire tour . She is a perfectionist when it comes to the preparations of any shows , complete with charts for all the different bands and her assistance with her guitar when needed .
Visit her website www.joyadams.co.nz .

Thanks to the following clubs :
Waihi RSA
Rotorua Citizens Club
Huntly RSA
Merrilands Country Music Club

I just want to say you did a brilliant job. I was very proud of you up in Paihia especially.
That last show that Ray and I saw was top notch. You had a great repor with the audience and picked a great selection of songs.
People really enjoyed your performance and you should feel very proud of yourself.

Dear David,

I was the sound technician at the Paihia Pacific Resort during the Country Festival.
My family and I hope you had a pleasant time in New Zealand, and a comfortable return back home.
We thank you a lot for the CD you gave us ("My Daddy's Music"). We listened to it already a couple of times, and we like it very much.
We wish you all the best, and maybe we will see you again in the beautiful Bay of Islands.

Kind regards

Alexander Gramse

In March this year my lady Cindy suggested we go take a look at the three day Country Rock Festival to be held in May at Paihia, Bay of Islands, NEW ZEALAND.
We both own FM radio stations in separate cities and thought it would be good to get out and meet the national and international stars that would be performing there.
After looking at the program, I decided to cold email David Cline in Texas and offer to promote his music on my station in his lead up to doing a one night show in my city of Rotorua, prior to the Paihia event.
It was a huge buzz to get an immediate positive reply from him and within two weeks I had received 66 of his songs by mail and had them wall-to-wall on air.
I had good feed back from listeners and I was delighted to hear for the first time the rich voice of an artist I'd never heard of until then.
David has a lovely tone and his deep Texan voice comes across well to present his songs.
We all have favourites, mine are 'Daddy, they're playing a song about you', 'An ace in the hole' and 'If I could dream', poetic licence allows me to give them plenty of airtime in conjunction with a good mix of his other songs.
David kindly send me some personalised voice ID's to play, introducing himself and giving my station good plugs, the personal flavour makes David's music just that.
I had the pleasure of meeting David for the first time when he came to perform in Rotorua with one of our New Zealand songstress Joy Adams, they did a show tour around the North Island before finishing at Paihia.
I would personally like to thank David for his professional courtesy, wonderful friendship and beautiful music, and I know that my listeners and myself are richer for having the pleasure of hearing him play on Radio Cindy 107.7FM.
Keep on making music David and please keep me and Cindy in the loop.

Hi David
Just thought I would drop you a line to say how I appreciated meeting you on your trip to New Zealand.. I hope you enjoyed the Pahia Country Rock Festival and all the venues you performed in on the lead up. It was great making initial contact in Rotorua at the RSA Club and then seeing the real David Cline in front of an appreciative audience in Pahia.. The crowd seemed to enjoy your classics and the new songs that you sang struck a chord with the listeners. You have a great voice and that lovely smile goes a long way to winning fans. I have been playing some of your orginal songs on Jukebox Fm 107.5 Taupo since meeting you as it is now easier to 'flesh' out the lyrics when talking about you on air.

She also sent this e-mail on 6/7/08

Hi David
Just having a blast on my station and thought I would email you to say the
your song about your wife's Hummer has just bought a reaction! There has
been a lot of publicity about vehicles that are petrol guzzelers here and
the Hummer won the category hands down so I thought appropriate to play
your song so my Saturday night show has turned into a David Cline SHOW.
Funny how that happens. Your great voice and style of singing is really
great. Ray and I have stressed out over the last two days moving my
station to a higher aerial position and different location in Taupo and
now it all on to pull new listeners.
Hope you have settled down to being back to the grindstone in Texas.
Thankyou for your music. It is different to our Kiwi style and much
appreciated by those who love Country'

CLINE'S CORNER GRAND OPENING - August 31, 2007

GRAND OPENING Aug 31st Sept 1st & 2nd

GRAND OPENING of “ Cline’s Corner “ Country Music Promotional Store with Showcase stage Located at Old Mill Market Place up on The Mountain Canton Tx . First Monday Trades Day Aug 31st Sept 1st & 2nd The little building we bought is on the grounds of the Old Mill Market Place up on what they call The Mountain ( formally called Willies Mountain years ago ). The building was a small Hot Dog stand , nothing fancy , only 12 foot X 15 foot. I felt it would be a great location for a little entertainment spot for all of the First Monday Shoppers to take a load off and relax in the shade while listening to some Classic Country & 50’s Rock - N - Roll music.

The easiest way to get there is to come to Canton Tx. On I-20 and take exit 528 and turn south ( TR ) onto Hwy 17, go down to Hwy 64 , turn right and start looking on your right ( approx 3 blocks ) for The Old Mill Market Place . Turn into that parking lot ( tell the gate attendant you’re one off the entertainers for the” Cline’s Corner “ showcase stage). Come thru the gate and look to your right and you'll see a big platform stage at the base of a big hill. That is what they call The Saturday night Mountain Showcase Stage . If you'll walk up that little road going up the hill we're the first building on the left over looking all of that area. On the side of our building there is a deck . That is what we've made into a small stage. The owners of all of that land that we lease from are going to work with me to make an area for people to sit in the shade and listen to some music at different times during the day along with all the other activities there (western reenactments gun fight shows , Gospel Music shows and auctions of merchandise ). We'll have pick - a - nic tables and or comfortable chairs to sit on. Then at night we'll have indie artists showcasing their music on Friday and Saturday nights during a little 2 hour show. The shows would start about 8 PM when it has cooled off and is getting dark . The show will be a free open air show , so for right now all artists will be volunteering their time to promote themselves to a lot of folks. I will be making time slots for the artist that can run their own show. It won’t be an open mic for anybody that walks up . I will have amps for people to plug into and players for those who have their original tracks to perform by.

The Mountain shops all stay open until 11 PM with all kinds of lights all over the hill. There's a lot of Bed & Bath little hotels all over the mountain as well as RV Parking with full hook-ups for the shoppers to spend the night after a long day of shopping . We hope to draw some of the residence of Canton to the show as well. Don't know what the ordinances of the city of Canton are about having a small dance area in front of our little stage but you can always dance in the street . A lot of folks still like to dance ever once in a while.

Our building will have heat and air for the entertainers to sit around in during the day and visit with the shoppers . We’ll have a sign out side saying , “ You never know what artist you might meet in here “. Come On In.

It will be a fun place to hang out once a month and do some people watching , co-writing and maybe sell a few CDs . Some of the artists might even pickup a gig or two for private parties.

We're having our Grand Opening Aug 31st , Sept 1st & 2nd. The main show will be Saturday night with Tammy Miller , Kimberly Mae , me & the fabulous Bryan Cline . Come on out and check it out . I have a feeling it will be the Biggest Little Track Show in Texas . We will be featuring live bands also from time to time.

Thanks for your time , David & Becky Cline Cell ( 972 ) 489 - 3404
